Building a daily Pralaya Yoga practice
“Pralaya Yoga and Robert Boustany have changed my body, mind & life. In the beginning I was struggling a lot with the non-traditional asanas. Sometimes because of the technical details, but also because they confronted me with the tension and weakness of my body which kept me from growing. Despite of the struggling I fell in love with it. Practicing Pralaya Yoga on a daily basis gives me the opportunity to clean up my body & mind from daily stress, worries and emotions and keep the life energy running so that I can do what my heart is longing for.” – Ellen van der Valk
In this workshop we will practice a variety of Pralaya Yoga asanas that help to get rid of tension in common areas: neck, shoulders, hips and lower back. The asanas focus on improving muscle balance, which will improve alignment of the joints and decrease physical pain or inconveniences. You will also learn how to break down constrictions in the fascia, which will improve overall mobility and, in the long run, organ function and energy levels. Additionally we will practice some easy, but effective breath excercises and yoga nidra to have a complete practice.
The main goal of the workshop is to help you build a daily practice at home. You will be guided through the asanas (with possibility to make notes or recordings). By consciously experiencing them step-by-step your body will start to remember them when you are doing your home practice. We will also take time to investigate the pitfalls on your way to a daily practice, share tips & tricks on how to motivate yourself and how to adjust your practice when needed.
This workshop is taught by Ellen van der Valk. The proceeds of this workshop will be donated to the Pralaya Arches fundraising project. Pralaya Arches is an initiative to create a yoga retreat center in Southern Italy. A place for yoga practitioners to deepen their knowledge and connect to the purity of Southern Italian town life. A place also for local people and children to connect to the beautiful gift of yoga. Pralaya Arches also focuses on preserving the legacy of Robert Boustany and Pralaya Yoga. More information on the project will be shared during the workshop.
